A Frisco-heavy district, and no soft weeks after Labor Day

The non-district portion of Denison’s 2026 schedule is two games long. Sherman at home. Decatur on the road. After that it is District 4-5A Division II until November.

The district is a nine-team cluster: Anna, Celina, Denison, Frisco, Frisco Emerson, Frisco Independence, Frisco Memorial, Frisco Panther Creek, and Prosper Richland. Five Frisco campuses. Celina, which hired former Jacket coach Brent Whitson as athletic director this spring. Anna, which beat Denison 49–17 last October.

District opens Thursday, Sept. 10, at Prosper Richland. Then Panther Creek comes to Munson on Sept. 18. The Jackets get a bye the week of Oct. 30 and close at home against Celina on Nov. 6.

Frisco and Panther Creek are already 1–0 in the non-district column. Everybody else is 0–0. Rankings this early are noise — MaxPreps had Denison 447th in Texas on Aug. 27 — but the district table is not. Eight games, no extras, and the playoff line will be ugly if the Jackets drop the ones at home.
